Walking Tour of Historic Garrett Hill

The Radnor Historical Society will present a program  on Sunday, September 23, 2012.  Please join us at 2:00 PM for a walking tour of historic Garrett Hill, starting at the 1780's Radnor United Methodist Church at 930 Conestoga Road in Rosemont.

Follow the former Indian trail, Conestoga Road, and hear about the neighborhood's history, which began in 1682.  Learn about the original residents and their lives, the Continental Army’s march from the Battle of Brandywine, General Cornwallis’ pillage of the James’ farm, and Jay Gould’s westward scheme for the P&W.  Visit mansions and carriage houses that still exist today as well as the Garrett Avenue homes from the 1860’s.

This event is co-sponsored by the Radnor Historical Society, the Radnor United Methodist Church, the Bryn-Rose Civic Association, and the Garrett Hill Coalition.

Refreshments will be served upon returning to the Church cemetery.

 Rain date is September 30.
