Armed Robber Hits Wayne Jewelry Store

The store owner and robber got into a physical fight after the owners refused to give him jewelry.

Radnor Police report that the fourth attempted armed robbery in as many months took place Thursday around 4 p.m. at a jewelry store in Wayne.

The victims told police that a "hispanic-looking" man, about 5'10" to 6' tall with a medium to stocky build, in his late 20's to early 30's entered the and demanded jewelry from the glass display counter.

Amirian is at 200 West Lancaster Avenue in the "Wayne Town Center" with the , Peanut Butter and Jane and beauty supplies.

According to Radnor police, when his demands for jewelry were rebuffed, the robber displayed a handgun and assaulted both owners with pepper spray.

The male victim then engaged the robber in a physical struggle trying to subdue him and then subsequently fled the store.

A witness chased the man to the rear parking lot at which time the perpetrator turned towards the witness, at point of gun, and told him to stop running after him.

The robber was last seen on foot running on West Wayne Avenue toward Bloomingdale Avenue and wearing a yellow shirt and cream-colored straw-type hat.
