Hunting Platform Found in Radnor Park
Do you know who has been hunting in Odorisio Park?
A Wayne resident discovered a hunting platform in a Radnor Township park on Sunday. Hunting in the township's public parks is illegal.
Matt Golas told Radnor Patch that he discovered a deer shooting platform tied to a tree in the woods at the clearing in the back of Ordoriso Park, which is located on West Wayne Avenue.
"Odorisio is a very popular spot for sledders, dog walkers, picnickers and folks who like to stroll through the woods. Setting up and hunting platform in the heavily used are is not only illegal, but ignorant," said Golas, who reported what he found to the police and township officials.
As of Monday afternoon, the platform was removed by township workers.
Lt. Andrew Block of the Radnor Police Department said they believe the platform has not been up long in the woods that surround the park's playing fields. He said they believe that the person using it was likely bow hunting, as no cartridges have been found near the site and no reports of gun fire have been reported.
Block asked that anyone with information on the platform call Radnor Township police at (610)688-5600.

No evidence the platform was used for hunting, so what was it used for? A peeping Tom? Perhaps a stalker watching the Park to select his prey? It's there for a reason and if there's no evidence of hunting then there's another motivation.

Perhaps it's nothing more sinister than kids who found a hunting platform in a garage and thought it would fun to put it up in the tree as a "lookout" or some such thing.

Exactly, this is most logical answer. I seriously doubt any Adult would be dumb enough to rig one of these things up in a heavily populated public park area. Sounds like kids to me too.

Not there are not enough deer for hunters to look for in Radnor, it still is not a place for public hunting. However, there is no doubt that bow hunters are out in many areas now. In Old Forge Crossing in Devon, police arrested several bow hunters who had parked their car on the side of the road and entered the wooded part of the acreage to look for deer- in the daylight, no less!

The stand probably hasn't been used for hunting, someone would have reported it long ago because it is in too populated a place to really go unnoticed
