Radnor "Gents" Varsity Soccer Team Tops GV

Radnor's Varsity Boys Soccer team hosted Garnett Valley Thursday afternoon, and won 3-0 in a hard fought game.

The Radnor High School Varsity Boys soccer team — known as the Radnor Gents — had a handy win over opponent Garnett Valley Thursday afternoon at Enke turf field at RHS. The 3-0 shutout brings the team to 1-0-1 in the Central League, and 3-0-1 overall for the 2012 season.

Senior Adam Erkis (#5) said "It's always good getting our first central league win of the season, but we still have a long ways to go".

And according to Senior Captain Matthew Lundstrom, "We went into the game knowing we needed 3 points with the win amd we did just that. We made our mark on the central league as a team of warriors but this is just the beginning of many games to come."

But Senior Kevin Cox (#14) perhaps summed it up best when he said, "Garnet valley played a good game today, and knocked the ball around very well. We capitalized on our scoring chances and were very happy to get a vital three points in the central league. We are still looking to improve a lot individually and more importantly as a team, and hope to get positive results from pivotal central league games like this one in the future."

Senior Captain Christopher Martin (#8) scored and had two assists. Senior Nico Peleaz (#10) scored once. Senior Ryan Cutler (#4) scored, and Senior Matthew Pelton (#13) had an assist.
