Radnor Real Estate Soared in August

Home sales were up, but the median price of a home sold decreased by 15 percent.

Radnor Township home sales in August increased 51.7 percent from the same month last year.

According to a Home Market report from Prudential Fox and Roach Realtors, 44 properties changed hands in the township during August this year. In 2011 that number was 29; in 2010 it was 25.

Compared with the same month last year, Radnor was the second best percentage-wise out of nine Main Line municipalities included in the report.

The month of real estate sales followed successful months of May and June and a disappointing month of July.

The number of properties that changed hands in the first six months of this year is higher than it has been the three prior years.

The median price of a home sold in Radnor decreased by 15 percent in August to $565,500 from $665,000 last August.

The average days on the market for homes that sold in Radnor this August increased by 11.7 percent from 103 last August to 91 days, according to the Prudential Fox and Roach report.
