Romney to Rally Voters at VFMAC on Friday
Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is renting Mellon Hall at Valley Forge Military Academy and College.
Republican Presidential challenger Mitt Romey will hold a public rally Friday at Valley Forge Military Academy and College.
Writer Thomas Fitzgerald at Philly.com that the event is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. with the doors opening at 9:30 a.m.
According to a school spokesperson, Romney is renting its Mellon Hall.
According to Fitzgerald, "the Southeastern Pennsylvania swing will be Romney's first visit to the state since mid July ... [his] return comes amid speculation that Pennsylvania has fallen off his campaign's target list as a top-tier battleground state."
Although President Barack Obama has a lead over Romney in donations in the Greater Philadelphia area (including parts of New Jersey), the challenger's campaign has earned $124,556 while Obama stands at $107,719 from 19087.

Is Romney's appearance at this venue his way of making up for not mentioning service personnel fighting for us in Afganistan at the Republican Natl Convention? Ironic, isn't it, that a good number of the 18 year old + young men and women attending VFMA are not U-S citizens, so they can't vote. Do the American students have military identification that will allow them to cast ballots, as required by the PA Voter ID law?

You have to wonder why he's bothering to come to PA at all, given he's so far behind here and has no hope to catch up.
I wonder if he just wants some photo op material showing him surrounded by men and women in military uniforms

The event is open to the public so it is not a solely Military event and yes military IDs are acceptable forms of ID. You seem to be upset that a Presidential candidate is coming to our town. Just give credit where credit is due.

Rasmussen, which is funded by Fox News, has been widely proven to be tremendously inaccurate. It does not conduct live surveys (it uses inaccurate robopolls) and does not call cell phones, which heavily biases its results. Nate Silver, the top elections statistician in the country, has well documented how Rasmussen's polls were off by 5.8% with a bias of 3.9% in favor of Republican candidates. You can read more about Nate Silver's analysis of Rasmussen here:

Most of the polls, except Rasmussen, oversampled democrats. They used numbers based on 2008 election and I doubt Dems will come out in droves again to vote for their guy. After all, what has he done? Put our country further in debt and now we are becoming a welfare nation.

Faced with its precipitous collapse in the polls, the Romney campaign is now desperately circulating the myth that only Rasmussen is accurate and all other polls "oversample Democrats." This myth is now being repeated endlessly on right-wing talk radio and by right-wing bloggers.
Here's a detailed analysis debunking the "oversampling Democrats" myth:

Media Matters is not "owned" by Soros. It's a non-profit.
Nate Silver -- the most accurate poll analyst during the 2008 and 2010 elections -- has another detailed article posted today about Rasmussen bias.
His lede spells out the bad news: "There’s no point in putting it gently: Mitt Romney had one of his worst polling days of the year on Wednesday."

They want to discourage voters from coming out on election day. After all, if they can try and convince you that Obama is way ahead of polls then people will stay home on election day which is precisely what they want.

The conservative Wall Street Journal is a pro-Romney newspaper, has endorsed Romney and features columns written by Romney and Karl Rove. It is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who also owns Fox News.
The most recent Wall Street Journal poll showed Obama leading Romney 50-45. It also showed Obama ahead in Ohio (50-43), in Florida (49-44), and in all the other swing states, except North Carolina.
Similarly, conservative Fox News has a strong pro-Romney stance and is owned by Rupert Murdoch. The most recent Fox News poll shows Obama leading Romney 48-43. Fox News also shows Obama leading Romney in Ohio (49-42), Florida (49-44), and in all other swing states except North Carolina.
If pro-Romney, conservative outlets like the Wall Street Journal and Fox News have polls showing Obama handily beating Romney, are they part of this alleged liberal conspiracy, too?

Everyone please listen to 106.9 FM tomorrow Friday. Mitt Romney will be on and yes tell all of us that Pennsylvania IS in play and let's all pray that he wins. We have 6 trillion in new Obama debt, 23 million people out of work, 47 million now on food stamps, an unemployment rate still over 8% (and we were promised after a failed trillion stimulus that it would be below 6%.) Not to mention Middle East on fire with threat of nuclear Iran within months now. Who do you trust? Obama is a liar and has complacent media feeding into his lies. He has done nothing but destroy us economically as we end up as Greece.

Obama inherited a country in an economic freefall, with job losses of nearly 800,000 a month, with a housing bust that wiped 3.2 trillion out of the economy, with a stock market that plunged to half its previous high, not to mention inheriting incompetently handled wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan -- all disasters caused by Republicans.
Now look where we are: Al Qaeda is devastated, Bin Laden is dead, Gadhafi is dead, the stock market is back to its previous highs, corporate profits are at an all-time high, housing is rebounding, the GDP has been growing steadily, and we've had close to three years of positive job growth.
We cannot afford another silver spoon Republican like Mitt Romney who is more interested in protecting the wealthy than in protecting America, who hides his money overseas he's so unpatriotic. Electing Romney would be like electing George W. Bush to a third term.

Thanks Mary.
BTW Dave keeps quoting dem/lib leaning references, not invalid but not objective by a long shot: media matters, NYTimes (Nate Silver whose analysis has been more schitzo than objective criticising it sometimes, endorsing it others (2008)), Talking Points Memo to name a few. While it's true during his first pres election prediction (2000) Rasmussen was off by 4.5% since then he's been within a percentage point and even becoming the first to point out changes in trends- Sen Brown-Mass, house gains in 2010, Gov races, etc. his batting average is pretty solid. Not sure what we in PA will do, certainly not basing my vote on those polls, but I was shocked to learn recently that my faithful dem family members are actually on board for Romney.

As a matter of fact, we have no respect at all from our muslim "friends" since our administration is constantly apologizing and kissing their butts. Those riots were'nt because they hate America's guts and they want us converted or killed! They were because of a video, right? Citizen John, I agree with Mitt Romney's support for the individual mandate and universal health care on the state level and agree that it should be the policy for the nation. I also agree with Mitt's strong pro-choice policies until he changed them. I further agree that the country needs Michigan. I just disagree with Mitt's etcha sketch flip flops such as letting Detroit fail, off-shoring all our manufacturing jobs, redistributing wealth from the middle class to the wealthy by eliminating the mortgage interest deduction but retaining the carried-interest loophole for hedge funds, decimating medicare and medicaid so seniors all have to enter state institutions if they have a stroke or need daily nursing, and generally enriching billionaires at the expense of the rest of us. I am a small business person too, but my business would not have been successful without the help of friends, bankers, government infrastructure, including online infrastructure, neighbors and our local, state and regional community. So, like the President, I truly think we're all in this together and even the 47% count. Mitt just doesn't fit. Don't take it personally. He's going to lose BIG. Four more years for Barack Obama!

One more thing, John, I could care less about Romney's wealth. What I do resent, however, is that he is the ultimate taker while he derides those who he accuses of "taking." He dodged the draft. His father dodged the draft. His sons have never served this country. Yet, he says veterans who receive veterans benefits are takers, and his party wants to take those benefits away. Indeed, the GOP refused to pass the veterans jobs bill just days before adjourning to campaign. Worse, they rejected the first responders bill to help 911 responders. So, instead of calling others who disagree with you nasty names, perhaps you should check your own patriotism. Mitt is no economic patriot, no help to veterans, no help to women, no help to diplomacy, no help to education, no help to manufacturing, no help to main street, no help at all. He's an outsourcing pioneer, who will outsource our talent and out treasure to the Cayman Islands and the Swiss Alps.
