Wayne Organization Helps Families Battling Cancer

An upcoming fundraiser will help the Weinberg family.

Bob Weinberg worked for many years in Wayne, which he calls his second home.

But he has been away recently and busy as the caretaker for his wife JoAnn, who suffers from a rare blood cancer called myelofibrosis.

The Weinbergs are holding a fundraiser to help pay for bills (Bob stopped working two years ago to care for his wife) and they are getting help from the Wayne-based Great Guys Group, an organization that helps families battling cancer in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Admission to the Weinberg fundraiser on Feb. 25 is $60 per person and includes great food, drinks, a silent auction and "an opportunity to help a very strong, brave, wonderful mother, fighting cancer so that she can attend her daugther's wedding taking place September 2012," according to the Weinberg's website.

The tickets can be purchased online through the Great Guys Group website. The tickets are tax deductible.
