Wayne Native's Film to Play at Bryn Mawr Film Institute

Sam French, originally of Wayne, has produced an independent short film which was shot in Afghan capital of Kabul.

Wayne native Sam French has written a film titled "Buzkashi Boys,” which will be screened at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute on Dec. 22 at 11 a.m.  The film is about two children growing up in Afghanistan.

The film is a short-list nominee for an Academy Award for Best Short Film, and it has won a number of awards at film festivals around the world.

French now lives in Afghanistan, where he works as a writer and director.  He is also a co-founder of the Afghan Film Project, which is a non-profit organization geared towards promoting Afghanistan's film industry.
