Close Encounter on Radnor-Chester

(Villanova, May 7, 2012) As I was walking home from the train station on South Radnor-Chester Road this afternoon, two Radnor fire trucks blew by me, sirens screaming. I hurried over the crest of the hill and saw they had stopped on the west side of the street, just a few driveways north of mine.

The only information I was able to get from the crew was that they had come out in response to an automatic residential alarm, and that they were investigating. Apparently, it turned out to be nothing serious, because within a few minutes they pulled away.

Fortunately, I had taken my little Canon point-and-shoot with me to the board meeting in center city, so I was able to get a brief video record of the nonevent, which you can view by clicking here.

I have to admit:  it was kind of exciting for a moment or two.
