DESCRIPTION:For many  parents\, anxiety about their child&rsquo\;s chance
 s of getting into a college  of choice starts the minute their child ent
 ers kindergarten.   Misconceptions abound\, especially among parents of 
 young students\, about  how early in their child&rsquo\;s academic exper
 ience they should start  worrying\, and exactly what is worth worrying a
 bout.\n"Behind  the Doors of College Admissions" seeks to relieve some o
 f this stress.  The information session will focus on demystifying the c
 ollege  admissions process by presenting an "inside view" of what colleg
 es look  for when reviewing applicants. The session will take place Thur
 sday\, May  17 from 10-11:30 a.m. in the ground floor conference room at
  the RTSD  Administration Building\, 135 S. Wayne Ave. A panel of season
 ed college  admissions officers along with Mrs. Donna Ward from the Radn
 or High  School Guidance Department will tackle topics such as:   &ldquo
 \;What course  sequences do colleges look for?&rdquo\;\, &ldquo\;What pe
 rsonal characteristics make  applicants stand out?&rdquo\;\, &ldquo\;How
  important are athletics and activities?&rdquo\;\,  and as many other qu
 estions as possible during the hour-and-a-half  session. All are welcome
  to attend.   In order to optimize the use of time  during the program\,
  questions must be submitted in advance via email to  infosessions@rtsd.
 org.  The session will be recorded and\, within a few days of its conclu
 sion\, a video\, podcast\, and written notes will be posted on www.rtsd.
 org. All these materials may be accessed on-demand by interested communi
 ty members who are unable to attend.
