New Local Acting Troupe Makes its Debut this weekend at Wayne United Methodist Church Theater!

Travis Milliman and Ruth Wellin, both graduates of Conestoga High School and college students, have rounded up some of their old classmates who share the love of theater, especially comedic theater!  Their task – simply to have fun, work on their craft and entertain.  Travis and Ruth were drawn to the new stage at Wayne United Methodist Church (where they assisted with a UMLY Summer Stage production held there).  They reached out to the church and offered to do two fundraisers in exchange for the space.  And thus the Ragamuffin Theatre Company was born (name based on their low-budget quirkiness)!

The company’s first show this summer is an improv/sketch comedy show called Happier Than a Camel on a Wednesday. It's a handful of skits written by the producers and directed by Ruth Ellen Wellin.  Topics include a child's view on love, awkward choking, a hippie and his tree, and a Bachelorette parody plus a handful of their favorite improv games.  It’s sure to have you laughing in short order!  The show goes up Friday, July 26 and 27 at 8:00 pm.  The $5.00 donation to the church is requested for admission.
