Construction of New Radnor Playground Begins Wednesday

Encke Park, a 10-acre space adjacent to the Radnor Township Building, already has a skate park and ball fields.

A new playground is in the works.

Construction on the playground for Encke Park will begin on Wednesday, June 25.

Encke Park, 305 Iven Ave. in Wayne, is 10-acre space adjacent to the Radnor Township Building. It already has a skate park and ball fields.

"The playground will allow for better accessibility in a new location and will serve a variety of uses including neighbors, patrons of the nearby baseball fields, and for folks who attend special events that occur at the heavily travelled Radnor Township Building/Encke Park complex," the township says.

The new play structure will be ADA-compliant and PVC-free, the township says. The equipment will be made of reusable materials.
