This Weekend: Phila. Boys Choir, Dog Park Holiday Party, Handel's Messiah

Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 15 at 8 p.m.
  • Where: St. David's Episcopal Church 763 South Valley Forge Road, Wayne
  • Why Go: The world-renowned Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale will present their holiday concert, "Sing, Choirs of Angels" at St. David's Episcopal Church this weekend.  Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
  • Cost: $38

Harford Dog Park Holiday Party

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 15 from Noon - 2 p.m.
  • Where: Harford Park
  • Why Go: Enjoy food, fun, doggie treats, raffle items, pictures with Santa, and a doggie gift exchange.
  • Cost: Free *bring wrapped gift to participate in gift exchange

"Murray the Elf and the Case of the Missing Mistletoe"

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m.; Friday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m.; Saturday, Dec. 22 at 2 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 23 at 11 a.m.
  • Where: Act II Playhouse in Ambler
  • Why Go: Bring the kids out for a Christmas play, written by Radnor resident Bill D'Agostino. Murray is a shopping mall elf, who is asked by Mrs. Claus to solve the case of the missing mistletoe. The audience helps Murray solve the case!  The show is recommended for families with children ages five and up. The show begins with a sing-along and ends with a question and answer session.  
  • Cost: $8 for kids, $12 for adults, and $10 for Act II subscribers

The Brandywine Singers present Peace and Love at Christmas

  • When: Sunday, Dec. 16 at 4 p.m.
  • Where: , PA
  • Why Go: Words cannot adequately express the emotions one experiences during the holidays…so we’ll let the beautiful music and gorgeous setting do it for us. We are thrilled to be part of the holiday festivities at one of our nation’s most beloved landmarks. The concert will feature Hickory Brass and the superb pipe organ of the Chapel−a holiday experience not to be missed!
  • Cost: Free will offering accepted

Vox Ama Deus presents Handel's Messiah

  • When: Sunday, Dec. 16 at 4 p.m.
  • Where:
  • Why Go: The Ama Deus Ensemble presents Handel's Messiah, a 2 hour and 45 minute show, with intermission.  The concert features soloists, chorus and a baroque orchestra.
  • Cost: $25

Christmas Planetarium Show

  • When: December 14 and 15.  7 and 8 p.m. shows each night
  • Where:
  • Why Go: The show is based on a dialog between an astronomer and his five-year-old daughter who wants to know why we have certain Christmas traditions. The show explains the origins of many of our Christmas customs and then investigates when Jesus might have been born. For more information, please visit their website.
  • Cost: Reserve tickets by emailing planet@eastern.edu with name and number of seats requested.  $5.00 per seat.  

Afternoon Holiday Tea

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 15 from 1 - 3 p.m.
  • Where: Radnor Hotel
  • Why Go: This magical and fun-filled afternoon starts by being greeted and escorted by a Toy Soldier to your table. You will enjoy fresh baked scones, a variety of sandwiches, miniature pastries and delicious homemade holiday cookies, as well as sparkling apple cider, a selection of tea, hot chocolate or chocolate milk. Once tea is finished, enjoy a storyteller who will capture everyone’s attention by her interactive and imaginative stories, festive caroling, and the kids will create a holiday card. Each child will receive a Story Book Gift to take home and treasure.
  • Cost: $59.95 for one adult and one child
