Mount Pleasant Barbecue Saturday

You don't have to be family or friends to attend the Fifth Annual Family and Friends Barbecue in the village of Mount Pleasant.

On Saturday  the Fifth Annual Family and Friends Barbecue will take place in the village of Mount Pleasant, a small neighborhood north of Upper Gulph Road in Wayne.

The free event will include food, music and games for children. Vendors are welcome, said Kevin Stroman, the event's organizer.

The Barbecue takes place from 12 to 5 p.m. at Mazie B. Hall Park. The raindate is July 23.

Hall was a civil rights activist and Mount Pleasant resident.

The event is sponsored by Kids' First Now!, an afterschool tutoring program at the Carr School in Mount Pleasant. Donations to support that program are welcomed.
