Pets Looking for People: Cookie

Come meet Cookie at Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals in Radnor.

You want me to dress up and look silly?  Like Santa, when I’m just a little Chihuahua?  Okay, why not! Let’s have fun! So says Cookie, who, hard to believe, was just recently cowering and quivering in the back of a cage at the animal control center in Philadelphia, where she’d been turned in as a stray.  Terrified, Cookie had that “No, no, don’t come for me” look in her eyes. But the hand that reached in was a friend indeed! It was a rescuer from Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals in Radnor, and suddenly Cookie’s future was looking a lot brighter. After only a day at Francisvale, getting lots of people love and hanging out in the staff office with other dogs, this 4-5-year-old pup showed who she really is. She’s Miss Easy Breezy.  Snuggly, fun, affectionate, and looking up all the time hoping to be held. Never barky or nippy, she’ll paw your legs to let you know she’d like to sit on your lap, please. What, you happen to have another dog on your lap at the time? Well, no problem, she says, isn’t there room for two? She’ll try to scramble up.  We can all get along!  Cookie has big floppy ears and a tiny head, a head so tired and so relieved she falls asleep in a minute—after licking your nose to thank you.  Scared no more. Just one thing: Cookie now needs a home!
