In an effort to curb congestion at the intersection of Conestoga and Radnor-Chester roads, left turns from eastbound Conestoga onto Radnor-Chester will be prohibited during morning and evening rush hours.

The new traffic pattern starts Monday, November 4. The left turn will be prohibited from 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The traffic light at Conestoga and Sproul Road (320) will be adjusted to handle the new flow of traffic. Lt. Christopher Flanagan told Radnor Patch that the timing of the light will be changed to give people traveling on Conestoga more time to get through the intersection.

“It’s something we’ve been working on,” Flanagan said. The police will request money in the 2014 budget to put left-turn arrows at the Sproul Road intersection.

A digital message signboard has been placed on Conestoga Road to advertise the change. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has approved the request by Radnor Police.
