Thousands Lose Power in Radnor Township

Where you in the dark Thursday night?

A large swath of Radnor Township lost power for a period Thursday night, including some of downtown Wayne.

Around 8:30 p.m., power went out throughout the area. As of 9:15 p.m., PECO's site reported that there are 1,026 properties without power in Delaware County; 553 of them in Radnor. By 9:30 p.m., although some of those who lost power had it back, Radnor's outage number on PECO's website jumped to 3,234.

Minella's Diner reported having power, but both Wayne Wawas report being out of power at 9 p.m. Vic and Dean's on West Wayne Avenue, like the rest of that street, had power. The business block of North Wayne Avenue was dark as of 9:30 p.m.

As of 9:20 p.m., there was power at McDonalds in Wayne, the Strafford Shopping Center and Eagle Village Shops. Homes on Eagle Road and West Avenue also had power.

By the end of the night, PECO was reporting no more outages in Radnor Township.

  • Midland Avenue in South Wayne
  • Radnor Crossing Apartments on Iven Avenue
  • South Wayne Avenue near Lancaster Avenue, including the traffic light
  • Cricket Lane (Off of Gulph Creek Road) near King of Prussia Road
