Radnor Stories to Watch in 2014

After a few years with little to no development, large-scale proposals are back in Radnor, and with them, concerns.

Some of the big stories that will continue into 2014 and could impact Radnor Township greatly are:

  • The development of the former Centocor property at 145 King of Prussia Road. BioMed has proposed a mixed-use transportation (MUST) zoning district within the planned laboratory office district (PLO). The possibility of having restaurants, apartments, a hotel and offices has many people concerned over an increase in traffic to the area.
  • Villanova University's proposed ordinance to change the zoning for Radnor's properties that are zoned for institutions. The "Villanova Comprehensive Integrated College Development ordinance" would not only impact that university, but would apply to other school properties as well.
  • The residential development of the Ardrossan Estate as well as Radnor Township's purchase of 71 acres of it for parkland and a trail.
  • The implementation of full-day kindergarten in Radnor's three elementary schools. The school district says the program will begin in September.
