Sidewalk Sale for Sandy, First Friday in Wayne This Weekend

The sidewalk sale will benefit the American Red Cross.

A sidewalk sale by merchants in Wayne on Saturday will benefit the American Red Cross.

"There isn't one of us that has not been touched by this disaster," said Stephanie Buthusiem-Horoski, owner of Fiore. Buthusiem-Horoski is organizing the event.

A number of retailers have expressed interest in participating. Currently everyone on the 100 East Lancaster Avenue block is participating in one way or another except for GAP and Blue Mercury, she said.

Wayne will also be hosting a First Friday event on Nov. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. In addition to stores staying open late and offering specials, there will be a live band playing on the street in the block of 100 East Lancaster Avenue near the Velvet Shoestring.
