Township to Residents: Saturday Campout May Be Noisy

Radnor Township will be participating in the Great American Backyard Campout this weekend.

Radnor Township will be participating in the Great American Backyard Campout this weekend.

Registration for the campout has closed, the township said, but officials wanted nearby residents to be aware that the inaugural event at The Willows on Saturday may be noisy.

"We wanted our Radnor Township Neighbors to be aware that lights and loud sounds will be generated as a result of the event taking place within the park. At approximately, 8:30 PM, there will be a ceremonial campfire with stories, music, and scouting activity traditions," Tammy S. Cohen, director of Recreation & Community Programming, wrote in a letter to residents. "Also, there will be an increased amount of vehicle traffic throughout the park during the event. For extra safety, Radnor Township police will be patrolling the park grounds throughout the day and evening."

The event, hosted by the Radnor Township Recreation and Community Programming Department and the Radnor Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, will be held from 1 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday, the township said.
