Women's Resource Center Volunteer Helps Clients Feel at Ease

Radnor Patch put a call out to recognize our community's most deserving volunteers.

Sunday, April 21 is Volunteer Recognition Day. Radnor Patch put a call out on its Facebook page for stories about people who should get a little credit for their good works.

Debbie Bell of Wayne was recognized by Angela Marchesani of the Women's Resource Center in Wayne, where Bell has volunteered for more than 7 years. Marchesani writes:

Debbie answers our Information and Referral phone line one day per week, and is always quick to offer a listening ear and solid resources to our clients.

Once a month, she greets clients who attend our Family Law Legal Consultations. She is friendly and efficient, and helps to make our clients feel at ease during a very stressful time of their lives.

Several years ago, Debbie helped a staff member resurrect the Annual Girls’ Leadership Conference, and has grown the conference significantly. This year’s conference drew 90 girls from 8 schools, and featured Jessica Jones from the Franklin Institute and lunch provided by Whole Foods in Devon. Debbie was instrumental in the planning and execution of this conference.

Debbie takes on extra shifts when we have a need, offers her home when projects need space, and is a loyal supporter and champion of the Women’s Resource Center’s mission.

We are so grateful to have Debbie, along with nearly 200 other volunteers.

Hats off to Debbie and the fabulous volunteers who are serving their communities!

Thanks to Angela for this recognition and to Debbie for your hard work.
