Reading of New Play at Eastern University

St. Davids, PA, September 14, 2012: Eastern University Theatre proudly presents a reading of Front Room, a new play by Richard Kalinoski, playwright in residence at University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. He is also the author of the internationally acclaimed Beast on the Moon and My Soldiers, which had its 2009 World Premiere at Eastern University. The reading is Sunday, September 30,  at 3 p.m. in McInnis Auditorium on the campus at 1300 Eagle Road, St. Davids, PA. Admission is free.

This is a synopsis of the play: Sandra is a middle-aged theatre professor and director. Her elderly, widowed mother, Abby, is a hoarder, as well as a force of nature. When a new and complicated romantic relationship begins for Sandra, Abby’s obsessions throw mother and daughter into a passionate battle for control and self-determination.

This reading features Betsy Morgan, professor emeritus of English at Eastern University as Abby. Landi Turner, associate professor of psychology, is Sandra; alumni Kaylee Goodwin as Alicia and Jake Miller as Tyler. Front Room is directed by Mark Hallen, director of theatre.
