Plein Air Events Include Paintout for Kids, Poetry Reading

Read about five upcoming events by the Wayne Art Center.

As part of its Plein Air exhibit, the Wayne Art Center is holding events that the public can participate in.

Check on the art center's website for fees and to register for these programs.

On Saturday, May 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. instructor Abby Laible will lead a gallery tour and paintout for young artists.

On June 5 there will be a guided tour of the Gardens at Big Bend with artist and landscape conservationist George A. Weymouth. Followed by lunch.

On June 6 there will be a plein air demonstration will artist Valerie Craig and wine and beer tastings. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

On June 12 there will be a plein air painting lecture with Marilyn Bauman of the Violette de Mazia Foundation. At 1 p.m.

Listen to poets who are inspired by this year's paintings on June 15 at 3 p.m. at the Ekphrastic Plein Air Poetry Reading with Overbrook Poets and Mad Poets.
