School’s Out Day Camp: Culture Explorers

Monday, January 16

Join art instructors at the Wayne Art Center on your day off from school for fun and creative art workshops. This Martin Luther King Day, enrolled students will take part in a number of art workshops and other activities celebrating the cultural diversity of America. Full or half-days available. Ages Kindergarten to 5th Grade.

Call for Entries: 7th Annual Young at Art Exhibition

Children ages 2 up to 17 are invited to submit one piece of original artwork for inclusion in this years' exhibition. Drawing/painting and other works on paper will be accepted, along with photography, jewelry, ceramic or sculpture. 2-D works must be suitably framed and wired for hanging; 3-D works must be stable and sturdy.  All work must be hand-delivered only, Tuesday February 28 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A Sweet Art

Saturday, January 21

A fun and creative Cupcake decorating workshop with Maryam Vafa of Elegance Café. Boys and girls are invited to join Maryam in the Wayne Art Center Kitchen to learn simple tricks and techniques to create lovely and unique cupcakes. Children ages 5 and up are invited to enroll, children under 9 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Family Ceramic Workshop: Cup & Saucer

Saturday, February 4

Families, join ceramic instructor Joy Kerschner as instructs workshop participants in the basic tools and techniques of handbuilding in clay to create unique and fun cup and saucer sets. Decorate with stamps and underglazes to complete your masterpiece. All pieces will be fired by our technicians, and available for pick-up by February 17.
