Wayne Art Center Events for Oct. and Nov.

Pig roast fundraiser, live music and free workshops are in the offerings.

The is offering an afternoon of fun and creative autumn themed arts and crafts for families. To be held on Saturday October 22 from 1 to 3 p.m., a series of five activities are planned for the Fall Workshop Day — each led by one of the Wayne Art Center’s children’s faculty. Activities are appropriate for children ages 2 to 12.

On Saturday, October 22 the Wayne Art Center Ceramic Studio will host its first ever Pig Roast Fundraiser. Guests will be able to enjoy a full range of events and activities both inside and outside of the studio, including: a Tie-Dye T-shirt workshop, live music, and pottery sale, as well as delicious food, drinks and home-made ice cream. Adult tickets are $25 and include food and (1) drink. Children under 12, tickets are $15. For $5, purchase a scoop of hand-made ice cream served in a one-of-a-kind ceramic bowl you can take home.

On Sunday, November 13 from 2 to 5 p.m. join the Wayne Art Center's day of free family-friendly art activities and live music as a benefit to the local community. Art workshops begin at 2 p.m., and are open to children ages 4 and up together with parents or grandparents. At 3 p.m., all will be invited to a concert by the award-winning duo Atwater-Donnelly. The duo will perform a blend of traditional American and Celtic folk music and dance, along with original songs and poetry.
