An Exhibition of Works by Radnor Township

Decorative Objects from Chanticleer

This unique exhibition will highlight a sampling of furniture, plant list boxes, bridges, fences, railings, drinking fountains, metal work, decorative pathways and architecture all designed by Chanticleer staff and shown for the first time outside of the garden setting.

Gallery Shop offers hand-made ceramics, glass, wood, jewelry, fiber, apparel, photographs and paintings by regional artists for purchase.

Call for Entries:  7th Annual Young at Art Exhibition!

Children ages 2-17 are invited to submit one piece of original artwork created in the last two years for exhibition in this years’ Young at Art Exhibit, to be held March 3rd-March 24th, 2012 in the Doris D. Vidinghoff Lobby Gallery of the Wayne Art Center.  Drawing/Painting and other works on paper, as well as photography, and sculpture will be accepted.  2-D works must be suitably framed and wired for hanging; 3-D works must be stable & sturdy.  All works must be hand-delivered only February 28th, from 9:00AM-6:00PM.

Classes & Workshops:

Indoor Landscape Painting with Valerie Craig

Students in this indoor oil painting class will work from photography in a controlled setting to capture the essence of painting outdoors.

Jan 27, Feb 3, Feb 17 and Feb 24, 10am – 3pm $385

 

Family Ceramic Workshop: Cup & Saucer!

Families join ceramic instructor Joy Kerschner and learn basic hand building techniques to create a unique mug and saucer set. Decorate with stamps and colorful under glazes to add your own personal touch!  Pieces will be fired by our ceramic technicians, and ready for pick-up by February 17th.

Glazing Workshop with Danny Meissinger

Three day that will focus on creating countless effects using 3 or fewer glazes. Bring up to 8 bisqued pieces to glaze and fire. Lecture, demonstration and critique included.

Painting the Still Life Workshop with Stanley Bielen

Join this master painting in capturing dramatic half-light, while employing loose strokes of translucent color from simple yet seductive palette.

Boy Scout Photography Merit Badge Weekend: “Camera Operation”

Over the course of two sessions, all material necessary to complete the Photography merit badge will be covered. Boys are requested to bring their own digital camera with basic manual shooting capabilities, and if possible a lap-top with basic photo software installed (e.g. Picasa).  Please Note that completion of both “Camera Operation” and “Post-Processing” (scheduled for March 17th) is required to complete the badge.

Boy Scout Pottery Merit Badge Weekend: “Throwing & Handbuilding”

Over the course of two sessions, all material necessary to complete the ceramic merit badge will be covered. A certified Merit Badge Councilor will be on-hand to sign off on completion of all requirements. Please note that completion of both “Throwing & Handbuilding” and “Glazing and Kiln Firing” (Scheduled for March 4th) is required to complete the badge.

Color Mixing & Palette with Tom O’Brien

Emphasis will be on formal techniques of painting; advancing the classical realist tradition modeled after the 19th century French Atelier. Will teach students principles of painting, which allow the artist to analyze nature and reproduce it with understanding and accuracy.
