The Radnor Township Police Department is hiring for the position of a part-time, seasonal School Crossing Guard.

The main responsibility of the job, according to the job description, is to: "oversee the safety of children while traveling to and from school including but not limited to instructing children at designated school crossings towait at the curb until a safe crossing of the roadway can be achieved; directing traffic in the immediate vicinity of the crossing; stopping vehicular traffic, guiding children across the street and signaling vehicular traffic to resume normal flow."

A High School Diploma is desired for the job. Applicants must be at least 18 and must pass a criminal background investigation and pre-employment physical including a drug test.

Some of the physical requirements listed for the position are the ability to withstand all weather elements including heat, rain, snow, sleet and ice; the ability to stand for 4-6h ours in a day; and to be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, kneel, lift and carry and walk.
