AAA Cuts the Ribbon on New Devon Store

Grand opening kicks off a week of freebies and promotions to draw attention to a new kind of car shop.

officially cut the ribbon on its new car care and AAA services center at 849 W. Lancaster Ave in Wayne Monday morning. Tredyffrin Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Michelle Kichline was among a host of local dignitaries on hand for the official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony.

The facility actually opened back in December but waited until now to hold the official grand opening.

The location, next to Whole Foods in Devon, is set back from Lancaster Ave., and backs up to the SEPTA and Amtrack rail lines.  It can be a little hard to see from Lancaster Ave. if you're not looking for it.

"I'm most excited about how the space has been re-used," Kichline told Patch. "We are the first community in Pennsylvania to get one (of the new AAA facilities)." AAA-Mid-Atlantic is opening a similar facility on Baltimore Pike in Clifton Heights, Delaware County.

As part of the festivites the store, which features a not-for-profit full service auto repair shop, is giving away some big prizes and services. The shop offered free windsield glass chip repairs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday. Click on the PDF for full details of other specials on travel, insurance and travel-related seminars.
