Jennifer and Patrick Yasaitis ate crepes on their first date three and a half years ago.
On Saturday, June 30, the wife and husband duo will open their first business venture together, , at 11 Louella Court in downtown Wayne.
They will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Crepes are very thin pancakes that are popular on the streets of Paris and are served with a variety of ingredients inside them. Béchamel is one of the “mother sauces” of French cuisine.
They have spent months perfecting their crepes and fillings. There will be wheat and buckwheat (gluten free) options for the crepes.
Some items on the menu will include:
Vegetable with béchamel
Chicken with spinach, mushroom and goat cheese
Ham with cherry compote and Swiss cheese
Apple pie with caramelized apples and vanilla crème anglaise
Ham, egg and cheese
Greek yogurt, granola, berries and local honey
They will also serve the “classic crepes,” like Nutella and sugar and lemon.
The Yasaitises told Radnor Patch that they will make everything themselves in the crêperie, including soups and pastries, like brownies, profiterols and macaroons.
Jennifer studied pastry arts at the Restaurant School in Philadelphia. Patrick has been cooking all of his life, although he has never before worked in the food service industry.
Crêperie Béchamel will be open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
