Organic Acting Academy Offers the Art of Acting to Everyone

Wayne may not be Hollywood, but actor and acting teacher Bryan Fox knows that there’s some good talent here.

Last month he opened the Organic Acting Academy, where he holds classes for children, teens and adults in addition to acting analysis and audition help.

He can help you prepare for the stages of New York, the sound stages of Los Angeles or the stages of your own life.

The tenets of acting, Fox told Radnor Patch, are wonder, imagination, empathy and listening—skills that translate into everyday life.

“Living presently in the moment. Acting gives you that.”

Fox, who grew up in Berwyn, has worked in LA and New York, but has returned to the Main Line to instruct everyone from novices to professionals. 

In addition to classes, the Organic Acting Academy will be offering “Open Anything” nights, a “safe, supportive, creative, fun space and night to workshop anything you're working on,” and “The Art of Audition on Camera,” a “real world film and television audition simulation and technique class.”

He can help actors prepare audition tapes or prepare people for job interviews with interview simulation sessions.

Fox is also developing an after-school program for teenagers, who he says do not always get to explore acting at school, where parts in school plays can be very limited.

“It makes me angry,” he said of youngsters whose passion for acting may be thwarted because they only get “one shot” at “one play.”

His training, he said, is about giving a passion and foundation, skills and ability so no one is bound to just one opportunity.

“I love to teach people who really want to learn what it is about,” he said. “I get to teach people what was never taught to me [as a teen].”
