The Barn Will Focus on Outdoor Living

You will be able to buy everything from an outdoor kitchen to a Belgian waffle shipped from Europe.

Years after a successful expansion and renovation of Valley Forge Flowers in Eagle Village Shops, manager Barbara King is getting to plan the outdoor space of her dreams.

The Barn, slated to open at the end of September across from the floral and home shop, will duplicate the “best of the best” retail and design of its predecessor.

“You’re going to come in and feel like you’re in your own home,” said King.

The Barn will be a retail space, but will also play host to floral workshops and cooking demonstrations, and will focus on outdoor spaces.

Outside of The Barn will be a courtyard garden with fire pits and an outdoor kitchen where you can shop, sit and relax.

“There will be lots of wows,” she said.

Inside will be displays of outdoor furniture, pots, plants, lighting and accessories. “People want outdoor spaces that are as comfortable as their indoor spaces,” King told Radnor Patch.

You can even buy an outdoor kitchen there.

“This is the floral shop of my dreams, but we did not have quite enough space to showcase our outdoor products,” King said.

The building will be made of reclaimed wood with a stone silo and 68 skylights. It will be built where the Village Hall currently sits. Interior design will be done by Barbara Balongue, architecture by JTA Associates and building by RKA Builders.

“It’s going to appeal to all the senses,” said King, who, with her staff, searches for the best products and tastiest food for the café in Valley Forge Flowers. The Barn will also have a café.

Food will include Belgian waffles shipped (frozen) from Europe and Capogiro gelato. And there will be, of course, coffee. (It’s quite a process to get a waffle, but it’s worth it, she said.)

King will be manager of both shops.
