Whole Foods Devon to Hold Contest for Nonprofits

The contest will take place this January.

This January, Whole Foods Devon is hosting a contest for nonprofits.  Nonprofits can compete to win a 5% Day on Wednesday, January 15th.  The organization with the most total votes wins and typically receives between $5,000-$8,000 from the day.

 Here’s how to participate:

1.  Facebook contest: Beginning January 1st and ending January 8th, Wholes Food will post daily with the status “Vote for our next 5% Day applicant by liking our page and commenting below.” Each entry with your organization’s name counts as a vote—participants can vote once daily.

2.  In-Store Contest: The weekend of January 4th and 5th, Whole Foods is inviting participating organizations to set up a table at the store to collect additional votes. You can talk to customers, hand out information and try to win their vote to be added to your total. (Please note—participants may not bring in materials (candy, food, coffee) not sold at Whole Foods, so please contact the below email if you’d like to give out additional goodies).

3.  Internal Vote: Whole Foods is also inviting team members to cast their vote on the 5% Day recipient. You’ll be invited to send any promotional materials to hand out to employees/set up in the break room to cast their vote for the 5% Day as well. (This is where you can highlight how the funds will be used (event sponsorship, what it buys in your program, etc.) to get employee buy-in and support as well. Each employee can only vote once and their votes will be added to the final total of your count.
