It's Home Show Season here in the Philly area, starting this weekend with the Greater Philadelphia Spring Home Show right in our own back yard.
Here are seven reasons to visit this year's shows:
1. Start planning for your spring or summer home updates. Whether your changes are small (paint or plumbing updates) or large (room renovations, window replacement), you can get loads of information all in one place.
2. Experts will present on subjects like organizing, cooking, interior design, landscaping, and more! Bring your questions, and ask away. That's why they came! These experts want to hang out with you.
3. See celebrities. Every home show features celebrities giving a behind the scenes take on their show or their hidden talent.
4. Find the unique. Last year I learned about Pompanoosuc Mills, quality furniture made in the USA and showcased in their Manayunk store. This is so much better than cookie cutter furniture.
5. It counts as exercise. You'll walk through rows and rows of eye-catching displays, and might not even realize that you've done more walking than you have all week. Perfect for the stay-inside weather we've been having lately.
6. Find out what's new in technology. Our homes are more than wired, these days. Now they are smart. See some of the latest innovations here first.
7. Solve a problem or two. You never know, you might solve a problem you never knew you had. I still use the best-ever jewelry cleaning solution we bought at a home show a few years ago. What will the big seller be this year, the fancy mop or broom, chamois, sheets, hand cream, or something new? It's fun to come home with a little luxury that you can't find in stores.
