New Years Organizing, Just 30 Minutes at a Time

It doesn't matter if you typically do resolutions or not, the New Year is always a time for self-reflection and new possibilities. If you are planning (or hoping) that this is the year you'll finally get organized, there are plenty of resources to help you.

31 days of 30-minute Organizing Projects- Conquer a short organizing project in under 30 minutes every single day this month, and you'll start a whole new habit that might just become irresistible. Click above to start receiving bite-sized organizing inspiration.

Neat Scanners- If you are tempted to try going paperless this year, Philadelphia-based Neat Company is a gadget to check out. It produces one of the premier document scanners, and recently released a tremendous innovation. Their newest scanner scans to the cloud without being connected to your computer. This might change everything.

TimeTimer, formerly only available as a physical timer, is now available as an app. Kids and adults can actually see time ticking away. When the red dial disappears, time’s up.

Get Organized- Another local company with nationwide reach, Taylor Gifts in Paoli offers affordable organizing solutions for any household. Their JaBox storage bins are stylish with plenty of patterns to fit any decor. We love ours to store toys and to sit on.

FreedomFiler- This maintenance-free paper management solution is all that and more. Customizable, color-coded, pre-printed, and perfect for solving tax-records terror. Purchase a stand-alone packet and DIY it, or come set yours up in class during March.

Evernote is the app that no one should be without. If you have a smart phone or other gadget, you can use this on the iphone, ipad, Android device, Kindle, Nook, etc! Access it from your mac, desktop, laptop or wherever. The company tagline, Remember everything, is right on the money. Keep your lists, notes, ideas, and clippings here and free up brain cells to do other important work. The free version is so powerful that you may never need the paid version, but you might want it anyway.

National Association of Professional Organizers- Even more cool stuff from NAPO members at the January 16 meeting, where we will feature Professional Organizers' Favorite things. To exhibit your product or attend, check out NAPO-GPC. The visitor fee is waived for January, but please tell them Darla sent you.

Now you have absolutely everything you need to get organized this year. And if you don't think so, I'd love to hear from you.
