In areas where downed power lines exist, please note that township crews will not clear branches and tree limbs off roads until PECO has cleared downed power lines.  Please contact PECO at 800-841-4141 to report any downed power lines.

Kevin Higgins, Second Ward Commissioner, said: My constituents had a few fairly consistent comments. The were complimentary of the communication effort undertaken by the township to keep people informed.  I think it worked well and the staff did an excellent job in challenging circumstances.  On the negative side, the lack of responsiveness from PECO and their lack of visibility was noted a number of times.  Their inability to even give a sense of timing as to when power would be restored made it difficult for people to plan and react and was very disappointing.

John Fisher, Seventh Ward Commissioner, said: A large part of Garrett Hill was out of power from 8PM Saturday until about 3 PM Sunday. Township staff stayed in contact with PECO to expedite the repairs.
Several wet basements, especially once the power went out and sump pumps were powerless against the steady flooding. Roadways were littered with debris but few trees blocking the roadways in the 7th ward. Township crews had cleaned up main streets by Sunday night. But the tree at Montrose blocking Conestoga was tangled in wires and that delayed it's removal.

John Nagle, commissioner of the Fifth Ward, reports that much of his constituents are without power. One of the reasons is that a large tree fell near the intersection of South Roberts Road and Haviland Drive in Bryn Mawr. The tree took with it two poles and caused a lot of outtages. It is also blocking the driveway to a few homes, where people can not get their cars out.

Hank Mahoney, commissioner of the First Ward, reports: Significant flooding to houses along the Gulph Creek occurred. Also, fairly widespread power outages because of falling trees. I understand that PECO is still working to restore the power and it has already been restored to some areas.

Elaine Paul Schaefer, commissioner of the Fourth Ward, reports: We still have people in the 4th without power, I believe Ithan Mills is
still in the dark, at least I haven't heard that they have been restored
yet. We also have households in Beau Pres still out. The Newtown Square part of my Ward -  which almost always loses power, even in
the little storms -- did not lose power this time. The Malin/Briarwood neighborhood was especially at risk (of taking on water) because I understand Earles Lake breached its banks at one point of the storm. They had been given an evacuation notice after that occurred, but I
don't think any residents chose to evacuate.

Don Curley, commissioner of the Sixth Ward, says: I have not had a lot of feedback from Ward 6.  Before the event, a handful of people contacted me about specific Township assets that needed protection. After the event, a small number contacted me to tell me that the Township level of communication was effective and appreciated.
