A Radnor Train Wreck

They were quite common around the turn of the 20th Century.

Train wrecks were common in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when freight was commonly transported on the Main Line. This photograph is one of a series documenting a spectacular wreck at Radnor Station in the 1920s. Shown are hopper cars and their cargo spilling over the bridge at King of Prussia Road. A crane, at left, is beginning to remove the wreckage.
