"C" House on Midland

When architects F.L. & W.L. Price were designing homes for South Wayne, they assigned each of their designs a letter from "A" through "F."

Today we continue our series of highlights from the George W. Schultz photo album. Schultz documented many scenes of early Wayne and St. Davids.

When architects F.L. & W.L. Price were designing homes for South Wayne, they assigned each of their designs a letter from "A" through "F." Each design was replicated numerous times throughout the neighborhood, though each had its own distinctive modifications and colors. This house was model "C," one of the Prices' most unusual designs. While most of their homes made heavy use of wood shingles on their facades, a significant portion of model "C"'s second and third floor was clad in brick. This home still stands, at 317 Midland Avenue.
