The Hi-Q competition is an academic quiz competition based on the student’s general knowledge.

This year, 21 schools participated in the competition and the championship was held at Penncrest High School in March.

Garnet Valley won a first prize of $3,000, which was awarded to the school. Penncrest, the defending champion, placed second and won $2,500 while Chichester High School came in third, winning $2,000.

The Garnet Valley Hi-Q team attended the council meeting and asked council a few Hi-Q questions. The questions ranged from government, physics, history and rugby and the council was stumped on each one. The audience wasn’t much help either. Looks like there's a reason Garnet Valley is the champion.
