Earthquake Felt on Main Line

No damage is reported in Radnor.

"Did you feel that?" It's the question being asked all over the Main Line.

A 5.8 magnitude earthquake centered in Virginia rocked the earth as far north as Boston at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Radnor manager Bob Zienkowski said there has been no damage at this time in Radnor. Radnor Fire Company reports that there have been no earthquake-related calls.

Land lines are taxed and cell phone towers are on overload, according to ReadyNotifyPA.

ReadyNotifyPA advises to refrain from calling 9-1-1 unless there is a true emergency.

SEPTA reports that it had temporarily suspended service on its regional rail system, including the Paoli-Thorndale Line to inspect tracks. SEPTA tweeted at 2:49 p.m that service was resuming but delays should be expected on the regional rail lines.

PennDOT tweeted at 2:36 p.m. that it was sending inspectors out to check bridges and roadways.
