"Five Things to Know Today" is a Radnor Patch feature published every day that provides a quick heads up on what's happening. Add what other things people might need to know in the comments section below.

1. Tickets remain for Radnor Memorial Library’s gala tomorrow night at Ardrossan Estate. Raffle tickets are also being sold until noon tomorrow at the library. You do not need to attend the fundraiser to buy raffle tickets, which are $20 each and may win you a Visa gift card in the amounts of $1,000, $500, or $250.

2. There are a number of interesting items at tonight’s Radnor Zoning Hearing Board meeting, including the application of two Wayne restaurants for outdoor dining. The White Dog Café and the not-yet-opened Xilantro will argue that the township code’s parking requirements do not apply to outdoor dining in the Wayne Business Overlay District. Radnor code wonks or those interested in downtown parking and dining issues: this meeting is for you.

3. Radnor Patch will be all gussied up this weekend and out and about at two gala events – Friday night’s library fundraiser at the Ardrossan Estate and Saturday night’s Plein Air Festival Gala Preview and Artists' Reception at the Wayne Art Center. Check our site for photos from these events.

4. The Radnor Township School District is focusing more on alumni now more than ever in these days of dwindling public funds. Related to this, a room has been created in the administration building that contains old photos and yearbooks, trophies and other items from the district’s history. Read an article on this “new” room full of old stuff here.

5. Superintendent of Radnor schools Dr. Linda Grobman spoke to Wayne Business Association members this morning at the association’s May membership meeting at the Radnor Library. Grobman touched on issues of parking and the school district’s budget; and members networked at the event. Not only is Radnor Patch a WBA member, we’re on the Board of Directors.
