1.   According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are an estimated 70.1 million fathers in the United States, 25.3 million of who were part of a married couple with children younger than 18 in 2010.

2.   This event is not taking place in Radnor, but we’ll make an exception today because it is so unique and open to Radnor residents. The Upper Main Line YMCA is hosting the “Great American Backyard Campout” on Saturday, June 25 from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following day on its Berwyn campus. YMCA members and the community at large are invited to spend the night hiking, making s'mores, and sitting around a fire. 3.   Speaking of camping, Pennsylvania State Parks has a new First Time Camper program that for $20 gets you two nights of camping, equipment rental and hands-on instruction on how to camp by state park expert campers.

4.   The Greater Philadelphia Gardens website has compiled a list of special events and exhibits this summer at numerous gardens in the region.

5. One of the ways modern technology is great – endless audio books available for download from the Delaware County Library System. You may like to listen to them when you travel, but at least you need not leave the house to get them.
