1.   The Radnor Historical Society has compiled a list of endangered historic properties in Radnor Township in order to raise awareness “of the plight of some of Radnor’s most historic sites, and to help bring about positive resolutions to their current conditions,” according to the society. See what buildings the society deems to be in danger of being lost on its website.

2.   The Radnor Memorial Day Parade will cause some detours next Monday. Lancaster Avenue will be closed at 9:35 a.m. and should reopen by 11:45 a.m. The parade starts at 9:45 a.m. at the Radnor Financial Center (555 East Lancaster Avenue) and travels west to South Wayne Avenue where it will conclude at about 11:45 a.m. The Memorial Day Ceremony begins at noon at the Veterans War Memorial at South Wayne and Runnymede avenues.

3.   It was not long ago that Radnor Police had its own dispatchers, and that if you needed an officer you would call Radnor’s phone line. But times have changed. If you need a police officer—even if it is not an emergency—you need to call 9-1-1.

4.   The Wayne Art Center not only offers classes for children in the summer, it also runs a summer entertainment series. Scheduled for this summer are a magician, an ensemble, an entertainer and illustrator, and a children’s art instructor.

5.   Radnor Middle School eighth-grade students took the national French test, le Grand Concours, this spring, competing against 100,000 other students throughout the U.S. Seventeen students, taught by teacher Aleda deLone, came away with honors from the competition, according to the Radnor School District. Le Grand Concours is a one-hour written and oral exam.
