From the Archives: Anyone for Tennis?

A Wayne family poses for a photograph following an 1890s tennis match.

This Wayne family takes a break from tennis in their backyard to pose
for this photograph in the 1890s. The picture was taken on Summit
Avenue, which is today the southernmost part of South Wayne Avenue.

The answer to : This school building was built in 1909 at the curve of Windermere Avenue, just to the south of the present RTSD Administration Building. The old Radnor Middle School Activities Center was linked to this building and used as the gymnasium. The 1909 school was used as Wayne Elementary when the high school moved to King of Prussia Road in 1958, and was demolished in the early 1980s. The southwest corner of the present Middle School now stands on the site.
