Moving Truck Stuck under Bryn Mawr Bridge

Police said the driver was taken to Bryn Mawr Hospital for neck and shoulder pain.

A woman driving a 13-foot high Budget rental truck did not clear a 10-foot-5-inch SEPTA train bridge near the border of Haverford and Radnor townships around 10:15 a.m. on Friday, Haverford Township police said.

The driver was taken to for neck and shoulder pain, police said, but did not give any further information regarding the woman.

The accident occurred on the eastbound lane of Landover Road, near Brook Street. Police said the 13-foot high Budget rental truck—although according to Budget’s website the clearance for that type of truck is 13’ 6" while on the truck itself the clearance is 13 feet—did not clear the 10’ 5” bridge that SEPTA uses for its trains.

Police said SEPTA was called out to check the condition of the bridge, but stated that the trains were still using it.

"There is no issue with the bridge and service won't be interrupted," Andrew Busch, SEPTA's spokesman, told Patch.

The truck was fully loaded, but police did not know where the woman was going or where she came from.

The police did not determine what charges would be placed on the driver, but one fine they might consider can be as much as $500, but that would depend on what the judge orders, according to police.
