The evening began with a VIP reception and tour of Ardrossan's 50-room Georgian mansion that is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The estate was made available as the venue by the Montgomery-Scott-Wheeler Family. After the tour cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and a light dinner were served after the tour.

student musicians and harpist Maureen McCauley played music in different rooms of the house on the patio, where many people congregated to enjoy the fare and the perfect spring evening. In addition to a raffle there was a silent auction for items that included artwork, an overnight stay at the Wayne Hotel, two nights at the Mansfield Plantation in Virginia, and more.

While a final number would not be available until after the library trustee and event chair Pattie Booker estimated that $32,000 would be raised from this second of what will be an annual event. Those funds are designated for the Library's media expansion plans only.
