Patch Picks: Summer Camps

Summer will be here before you know it, so here are five local camp ideas for your children.

The Real Deal is a five-day residential program designed by faculty of The Agnes Irwin School to develop the leadership potential of girls entering 7th through 9th grades.

The campers will stay on the campus of from June 26 to July 1.

The application deadline is March 18.

’s Basketball Camp for Boys will teach basketball fundamentals from college coaches and players to boys ages seven to 12.

The camp will be held in Eastern’s air-conditioned competition gymnasium.

Sessions run July 5 to 8 and July 11 to 14 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Valley Forge Summer Camp held at Valley Forge Military Academy and College offers day and overnight camps in July and August.

The camps include overnight adventure camp, day camp, sports camp and forging fitness camp.

There are also academic courses offered as electives.

World Cup Soccer Academy aims to teach kids technical skills and sportsmanship, but also respect for others, strength of character and a sense of responsibility.

A number of camps are scheduled this summer in Radnor Township locations.

Radnor Township Parks and Recreation programs do not open registration until May 2, but a list of some anticipated programs has been released.

They include theater, art and library camps as well as sports, science and nature offerings.
