Radnor Home Sales Dropped in February

Radnor fared worst out of nine Main Line municipalities.

Radnor Township home sales in February were down 61.1 percent in February from the same month last year.

According to a Home Market report from Prudential Fox and Roach Realtors, 7 properties changed hands in the township during February this year.

In 2011 that number was 18; in 2010 it was 7.

Compared with the same month last year, Radnor fared worst percentage-wise out of nine Main Line municipalities included in the report.

(Lower Merion Township performed best with a 35.5 percent increase.)

The median price of a home sold in Radnor decreased from $524,500 last February to $425,000 this February — a 19 percent decrease.

The average days on the market for homes that did sell in Radnor this February decreased 58 percent from 159 to 67 days, according to the Prudential Fox and Roach report.

Radnor was not alone in decreasing home sales. Six of the municipalities included in the report had decreasing sales in February.

January was not much better. Radnor's home sales in January were down 17.6 percent from the same month last year.

Fourteen properties changed hands in the township during January this year. In 2011 that number was 17; in 2010 it was 12.
