Radnor Library Hours Back Up

Radnor Township's restoration of funding at 2010 levels helped increase the hours the public library will be open this year.

's hours have been restored to what they were in 2009.

The library is now open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

"Many thanks to the township for restoring library funding, to the Friends of the Library for their critical support, to everyone who attended or who purchased raffle tickets for the , and to everyone who contributed to the library's 2011 Annual Fund," wrote library director Kathy Mulroy upon announcing the restored hours. "Without your help and support, this could not have happened."

The Board of Commissioners voted to restore the library's funding to $815,640, which is what it received in 2010 and 2009.

In early 2011, after funding from Radnor Township was cut in the 2011 budget, the Wednesday night hours were reduced from 8 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Additionally, weekend hours were slashed, and the library closed Sundays in the summer.

In September, the library used proceeds from its fundraising event at Ardrossan mansion in May to extend its Wednesday evening hours to 8 p.m. and increase its weekend hours.
