On the storm, I think we did ok on the flooding aspect. Very minimal impact and we were very pleased with that. I want to thank Steve Norcini and our Public Works staff for their proactive efforts prior to the storm in areas of dredging creek beds, cleaning culverts and catch basin, and removing debris from the water flow areas.  Clean-up of the Township will take a while.  The Radnor Trail will remain closed on Wednesday for fallen tree removal as well as an inspection by a certified arborist.  The Parks will also remain closed through Friday due to the necessary clean-up, saturated playing surfaces and removal of fallen trees & debris.  Both of these items is for the concern of our residents safety.  Each will be evaluated daily and their status may be changed after the inspections of the various areas.

As for the power outage, PECO is currently in town working to restore power.  Unfortunately, we have no leverage or control over the work they do and the time schedule they set. We will just have to be patient which is difficult to say because we all rely so much on this service. We will continue to push PECO on our end until all service is restored in Radnor.

I want to thank the entire Township’s staff, especially those of our Public Works and Police departments. As well as our office staff who handled the phones around the clock during our emergency operations. They did a tremendous job throughout the event and worked so well together.  I am very proud of our entire staff’s efforts and their dedication to service to our residents and businesses in at times very difficult and hazardous conditions. They are second to no one!
