Paoli-Thorndale Regional Rail Resumes, Big Mess Elsewhere into Philly

Rain tapers off as the sun rises, but damage is done for commuters heading into Philadelphia Thursday morning.

SEPTA's Paoli-Thorndale Regional Rail Line is back up and running Thursday morning but for commuters who drive into Philadelphia, the morning commute could be rough.

Soaking overnight rains caused a mudslide, a rockslide and flooding that closed eastbound I-76/The Schuylkill Expressway from I-476 east into center city. As of 6:30 a.m. drivers had been sitting for more than two hours at the Girard Ave. waiting to exit from the Schuylkill.

As of 6:45 Thursday morning a front loader was picking up and scraping mud off I-76 at Girard Ave (The Philadelphia Zoo exit).
